The Divine Aura.
I had bought the Uk Special Edition Prophecies when I first started out and I have no divine aura on my emotes. I really think it blows that the "Special" Edition isnt really so special after all in this way. Had I known, I'd not of wasted my money and I'd of bought the American Collectors Ed insead, Grr.

I don't see where any of them say that the special edition gives you the Divine Aura.

Oh that must be the reason why they dont sell the "Collectors Edition" in stores or gaming sites over here in GB huh. I certainly only saw/ see the "Special Edition".

These messages come up from time to time, but I think they should sell the Prophesies CE still, even though I have several copies of Prophesies, I'd buy a couple CE editions to upgrade my versions just for the divine aura. And it's been close to 2 years, they should offer the Divine Aura for a price, but they will never do it as they have said many times in the past. So Anet proves they don't care about those that didn't/couldn't get it, but they still sell the other CE's. Oh well.

No no and no. CE is collector's edition for a reason.
If you don't have it, too bad. Releasing more CE just cheapen it. Already there too many Factions and Nightfall CEs out there which spoils it.

Had I known I would fall so hard for this game, I would have bought the CE. Alas, I didn't, and know I must resign myself to no Divine Aura. It makes me sad, but I agree - they're called "collector's edition" for a reason.

I got the collectors edition from the UK. The Special edition was released I think 6-12 months later.

The reason you can't find the CE over there or most anywhere now is that it's nearly 2 years old and has been out of print for quite some time >_<

I don't mind the Factions and Nightfall CE's really, but I'd be pretty annoyed if A-net brought something else out that had Divine Aura. I like my glowy-glowy hands and don't want you to have them!

It's worth pointing out that the CE's were never sold as "Limited Editions". They were not numbered, there was no specified print run and they were not supplied with any form of certificate. If Anet wanted to produce more, they would be entirely within their rights to do so.
That said, the SE was a re-release of the regular edition, with a few bonuses. It was quite right that it didn't include CE features.

What's there to see? It's a well known fact that they don't make them anymore and unless you're willing to shell out $100+, you're not getting one.
Next time you buy something make sure you look at what is actually included.

LOL... totally reminds me of the phrase "after me, paradise is closed." Very common among most uptight folks that like to bitch wildly when someone does equal them in prized gloating.

Well known fact? lol.. sounds more realistically like a greatly assumed by many, and yet still very subject to change.
CE = some extra profits plain and simple
Divine Aura's in the GW store for 10 bucks, 15 bucks, whatever... wouldn't suprise me a bit as it would be brilliant profit taking venture. Don't kid yourself... ANET decides they want the money for it and it will happen. Or they will nerf Divine Aura and provide an expansion of it in another form.
Since when is the game really not about the bottom line for ANET? I see no evidence otherwise to date. (not against the bottom line either - since I like to contribute to theirs for my own pleasure)

Yeah, well, you can keep telling yourself whatever kind of lies if they make you feel better about yourself.
For now, I guess I'll just get into the game and enjoy my Divine Aura.
Keep on dreaming, ppl.

A book I've wanted for a long time is out of print. Would it be cheapened by making more copies? No. That logic is half-flawed. Collector's Edition isn't the same as Limited Edition (See below quote). I did get a copy of it eventually, but it wouldn't have cheapened those who bought it while it was in print.

And that reason is? They aren't limited editions. They aren't individually numbered. So what other reason can there be?

Let's assume that the collectibility of the Prophecies CE holds up. This means that the Factions and Nightfall CEs are cheapened because there are more of them. More were made.

Also QFT. I too can see this happening for the simple fact is that people will keep suggesting it. It's what the people want, and ultimately in one form or other it will end up happening. Maybe not today, tomorrow, next week, or next year. But it will, and I'll be waiting with my (however much money) in hand. They once said there would be no way for us to obtain additional character slots except to add future chapters. That changed as the people who wanted it kept bringing it up. I'll gladly join those in this cause as well.
An acquaintence of mine told me in-game the very same thing that I see here. People having a fuss over an emote. People want the Prophecies CE to remain out of print over an emote. No minipet. No artbook, soundtrack, map, special dances or any other novelty. No physical item (in-game or out-of-game) to set it apart (unlike the miniatures with the Factions and Nightfall CEs). I wonder how many people took a step back and realized they were dissing the idea over an emote.

If I remember correctly, Gaile said once a while back that Collector's Editions of each game are limited. I can't find a link at the moment so maybe Gaile can confirm or deny this herself.
Also, Gaile also mentioned that Divine Aura is Prophecies CE's exclusive and she didn't see it coming to online store, ever (I'm sure she said this one, though).
